"The goal is to implement modularity in everything and to record it in PRO.FILE."
Since 2006, the machine builder TDC, based in Kampen, has focused not only on the tobacco market, but also on so-called next generation products. The machine platform Genesis for making and filling e-vaping cartridges - strongly emerging as a less harmful alternative to the traditional cigarette - is an example of this. PRO.FILE PLM has been implemented to make the development and maintenance of the platforms manageable. "We look beyond what seems possible at first glance."
About the implementation of PRO.FILE and its purpose.
PRO.FILE is integrated with the CAD and ERP systems (respectively SolidWorks and Trimergo) at TDC. These systems directly support the primary process, and many actions are automated thanks to this integrated solution. TDC now stores all drawings of the machines in PRO.FILE and can apply an unambiguous revision process. PRO.FILE also offers the possibility to record and manage the standard according to the processes and procedures established by TDC. Another advantage is that PRO.FILE separates the revisions that are being engineered and that can be used in production.
"The innovative and changing market makes it necessary for the machines to change. PRO.FILE offers the possibility to record and manage the standard according to the processes and procedures established by TDC."
TDC - part of the Tembo group
TDC as part of the Tembo group in Kampen focuses with the completely newly developed modular Genesis machine line on the electronic cigarette with the e-vaping cartridge filling line. PRO.FILE is designed to optimally support the modular CTO method. Furthermore, the recording of the delivered configurations is an important objective in order to control the management of the delivered configuration per installation.
