In order to have full control over all data and applications, Optimus Sorters opts for the PRO.FILE digitization platform. PRO.FILE is currently used at Optimus Sorters for the management of all design data and is thus the only source of truth for the entire company. For example, Optimus Sorters has full control over all design data such as 3D designs, part lists, production drawings, etc. In the next step, all other document management (DMStec) will be added and an integration of PRO.FILE with the ERP system will be realized.
About the implementation of PRO.FILE and its purpose
Optimus Sorters previously worked with a standard application that was included in the 3D CAD software. However, this application was far too limited for a truly complete CAD Data Management due to, among other things, the lack of revision and version management. After an extensive selection process, Optimus Sorters ultimately chose PRO.FILE for initially Product Data Management (PDM). For the future, Optimus Sorters also sees possibilities to manage other project data in PRO.FILE as a Document Management System (DMS). As a result, both the design data and project data are managed in PRO.FILE with one integrated solution.
