We look back on a more than successful afternoon full of valuable information. The considerations during the selection of PLM, the experiences gained during the introduction of PRO.FILE and the impact of PLM on a greatly improved business operation of IAI. It is clear that the PLM ToGo fulfills a need for companies that want to take steps in the field of PLM. With more than 30 visitors from 17 different companies, this is a new record number of participants.

Tuesday afternoon, November 22nd, we visited our customer IAI industrial systems B.V. with the PLM ToGo. They specialize in high-tech laser applications for a large number of applications. The company builds systems and machines such as the Bookmaster version, which uses laser application to secure and personalize passports and ID cards. IAI has its own R&D and engineering that also provides work preparation, the supply chain and production with the correct data at the heart of the processes.

During this company visit, those present received practical answers to questions about the implementation, use and efficiency of PLM with PRO.FILE at IAI industrial systems.

At IAI, the introduction of PLM did not stop with comprehensive version management. This was just part of a bigger plan. For example, with the introduction of PRO.FILE, a start has been made towards Configure to Order to support Smart Customization. Significant productivity gains have been made with the modularization and use of PRO.FILE Classification for the controlled reuse of existing designs and modules for new customer-specific assignments. Furthermore, with the integration of PRO.FILE in the ERP system ISAH, engineering and work preparation, purchasing and production are linked together during the entire primary process of an order. Retyping data has thus become history. Furthermore, this connection of PLM to ERP provides a seamless transfer of engineering data such as drawings and materials for in-house production and supply chain management.
