On the 5th of June 2014, PLM Xpert organized a well-attended day for business relations at a suitable and inspiring location: the Aviodrome in Lelystad. The theme of this day; "Are you ready for take-off - from PDM to PLM." During this day, customers and PRO.FILE users could follow various presentations in which the latest developments and innovations within the PRO.FILE PLM suite were explained and shown. It was accompanied by a museum tour, a snack and drink during lunch and a dinner in the officers' mess.
The PLM Xpert crew welcomed the guests in the Schiphol 1928 building for the take-off for an interesting day.
On this day, PLM Xpert, together with colleagues from PROCAD, provided its customers with ideas to take steps with PRO.FILE towards greater efficiency within the organization, by making the step from PDM to PLM. In difficult economic times, it is important for an organization to be able to respond quickly to changing market demand and to have an efficient development and production process. The need to respond to this as an organization became once again clear in the keynote, with the presentation on the consequences of the fourth industrial revolution.
The answer to the challenges in today's industrial world followed in the afternoon. Processes and information from different systems integrated at a high level is the answer to increasing complexity, chain integration and globalization.
With the topics of the follow-up sessions, it was possible to map out the approach route from PDM to PLM for their own organization.
From the Business Class, those present saw the premiere of PRO.FILE, version 8.5. Innovations and many customer-driven functional developments were received with enthusiasm. An eye-catching innovation is the user screen, which is now called the 'Cockpit'. The comparison with the cockpit of an airplane is therefore valid. The Cockpit brings all relevant information together and presents it at a glance. The Cockpit can be very different for each user group, depending on the need for information. For example, a project manager needs different information than his engineering colleagues.
In break-out sessions, a choice could be made to follow a management track or a technical track. For example, it was possible to opt for the session on accelerating and excelling with processes, planning, steering and monitoring projects and working with composite documents with Office VSTO integration. Also, the new possibilities of using PRO.FILE Taxonomy in the archiving and classification of e-mails was a useful addition to the existing PRO.FILE e-mail integration for many users.
As a participant in the User Event, Mr. Fred Slop, Operations Manager at Sauter Building Controls Netherlands B.V., was prepared to give a presentation on the introduction and use of PRO.FILE at Sauter Building Controls. Especially the way in which Sauter combines the management of assets and projects in PRO.FILE together with the versioning, control and distribution of its own technical software for building management systems, inspired the audience.
The day ended in the Officers Mess where everyone could catch up and share experiences over a tasty dinner buffet.
