PLM for the Manufacturing Industry to the next level

That may seem like a beautiful dream to some, to others that dream is already a reality. In fact, continuous innovations take the possibilities to an ever higher level. During the user day of PLM Xpert from Bergambacht, the latest possibilities of the PRO.FILE Next platform were unveiled. A well-attended event in De Fabrique in Utrecht, where both users and potential users were present to be updated on the developments.

The management, control and linking of product data and documents - whether they come from CAD or ERP systems, is done in one system, the PRO.FILE program. This PLM system integrates all data on all aspects of business operations into one system, forming the backbone of a business. Throughout the entire life cycle of a product - including its processes and resources - from development to decommissioning. This way of working provides enormous time and cost savings and increases the efficiency of processes and communication.
PRO.FILE Next
The PRO.FILE Next software is the next generation and completely newly developed. It offers an easy way to respond to new and complex requirements for products, projects and organization and gives companies a head start in the age of digitization.
A completely new infrastructure has been developed for teamwork that offers complete support for the entire organization and thanks to an app also on mobile devices. There is a comprehensive information link between product data and it turns data into usable and available real-time information.

PRO.FILE Next is suitable for data storage and processing in the cloud. It works with generic objects and is compatible with PRO.FILE 8.X. This is good news for the many users present who are eagerly awaiting the introduction of the Next version. According to producer PROCAD, another important advantage is that less use is made of e-mail and more of instant messaging.

PLM is already indispensable for large production companies. There, for example in the automotive industry, PLM arose out of necessity. Typical of the older PLM systems is that they required a lot of customization to be adapted to the specific requirements and wishes of a company. Customization here means programming. PRO.FILE Next is not about programming but about configuration. In his demonstration, CEO of PROCAD Raimund Schlotmann shows how easily, for example, the deliverables of involved machine builders, electrical engineers and software specialists are managed in one integrated system with the same rules and regulations for everyone. Creating variants is largely automatic, as is the delivery of documents to production and service teams.

With the development of PRO.FILE Next, PROCAD is making significant progress. In order to serve the manufacturing industry with the best solution and to be able to face all the challenges that come with it, a whole new development was actually needed. That takes guts, and the market appreciates it.
