Due to the overwhelming number of participants, we had to exchange the Demaco boardroom for the company cafeteria. We were with a group of 28 people from 15 companies respectively active in the manufacturing industry. The host provided insight into the necessity and reason for an investment in PLM, the selection and the introduction of PRO.FILE and the participant gained extensive insight into the design choices made, the operation and the added value of PLM at Demaco. It is clear that the PLM ToGo meets the need for concrete PLM experience in practice. Some reactions are therefore; "valuable" "very concrete and from practice" "educational and enlightening".
At Demaco, the use of PRO.FILE has started in the Engineering department with the aim; the management of Solid Edge 3D CAD data, product structures, parts lists and the TPD. Subsequently, soon after going live, other departments are also involved, such as project realization as well as production. PRO.FILE has been introduced as a Lifecycle Management solution for consulting drawings, documents, as-built configurations, etc. from the 'single source' concept. Marco Roos, Manager Engineering and Procurement, says: "Now that we work with PRO.FILE, we see new possibilities every time to manage projects, accelerate processes and streamline document flows. A strong point of PRO.FILE is that you can configure insights resulting from desired adjustments to the device itself."
Demaco is the cryogenic infrastructure partner for industrial gas companies, scientific institutes and EP&C contractors worldwide. Demaco's field of work is cryogenics. Cryogenic technology is the technique that deals with extremely low temperatures (-160 degrees Celsius and below) in which liquid industrial gases are used as a coolant. And that goes hand in hand with high vacuum. Because cryogenic technology requires extreme insulation and high vacuum technology makes that possible.
