In April 2014, J&B Grabs opted for the introduction of PRO.FILE as a Product Data Management solution. Based on a demonstration focused on the products and processes of J&B Grabs followed by a visit to a comparable company, it was clear to director Edgar Joustra that PRO.FILE was ideally suited to fulfill the need for a robust PDM system.
When a new employee joined the engineering department of J&B Grabs in the autumn of 2013, it became clear how difficult it had become to transfer the knowledge and complexity of the products. Finding the right 3D CAD models in the right revision stand had become a top sport even for the experienced engineers due to the growth in the number of orders and products.
J&B Grabs B.V. based in Utrecht, is an internationally operating company that mainly develops, produces and overhauls hydraulic, two or four-wire transfer and dredging grabbers. J&B Grabs designs the grabs in 3 dimensions and calculates their strength with FEM. This means that customer-specific requirements can be implemented in a design and production process.
