On Wednesday evening, November 30, 2016, LINK magazine once again organized the annual Dutch Industrial Supplier and Customer Awards. During the exciting finale, PLM Xpert saw its customer, IHI Hauzer Techno Coating, win the Customer Award. Chief Operating Officer, Rik Smabers of IHI Hauzer Techno Coating was equally taken by surprise. “Nominated for the first time and then immediately winning. A huge surprise and a great honor.” PLM Xpert is proud to serve this great manufacturing industry company as a customer. The PRO.FILE implementation at Hauzer is currently being finalized, so that they can go live with PLM in January 2017.
In the Best Customer category, suppliers assess their customers on fifteen different points, including openness about the cost price structure and forecast, communication and the scope available for deploying their own specialism. 38 OEMs made it to the second round after a first selection, leaving five finalists.
174 outsourcers were nominated. The 2016 Finalists: Additive Industries, Nedap Groenlo, Repak Emmen, Bronkhorst and IHI Hauzer.
The best jury reviews were awarded to IHI Hauzer and Additive Industries, last year's winner. After two live pitches by the nominating suppliers, the audience chose IHI Hauzer.
The jury led by John Blankendaal (Brainport Industries) about the winner: “As a manufacturer of coating equipment for, among other things, the automotive industry, Hauzer must be able to respond quickly to trends and manage lead time. To this end, outsourced work has been placed with Dutch suppliers who are given every opportunity to prove themselves. Hauzer is open to proposals and re-engineering of different modules. The result is a very efficient production process and a reduction in lead time from 20 to 8 weeks. Mutual trust is the basis of the collaboration.”
Hauzer Techno Coating develops and produces machines and technology for applying coatings. The company was founded in 1983 in Venlo as a family business, has been part of the Japanese IHI Group since 2008 and operates worldwide. Hauzer supplies technology for both decorative and industrial purposes. The different coatings on metal or plastic serve, for example, as protection against weather influences. In addition, coatings are applied to components in engines and machines to extend service life and reduce wear and friction. At the moment 120 people work in Venlo, almost half of whom are in development and research. Hauzer obtains the majority of its turnover outside the Netherlands, including through four competence centers in Spain, China and Japan. Its broad clientele includes manufacturers of sanitary ware, cars, jewelry, electronics and instruments. Hauzer won the Limburg Export Award in 2008.
