Some reactions; "valuable", "very concrete and practical", "educational and enlightening", "what a good way to hear each other's challenges", "with this openness you gain insight into the actual functioning of PLM in practice". With a nice group of 14 top companies active in the various segments of the manufacturing industry, we visited Palfinger Ned-deck in Barneveld on Tuesday 6th of October. After an introduction to PRO.FILE and live demonstration from the host, insight was given into the necessity and reason for PLM, the selection and the implementation of PRO.FILE. The presentation made it clear that PRO.FILE was able to manage the strong growth of the organization in the past 2 years, with an increase in quality assurance and of great value in the profitable execution of projects.
At Palfinger Ned-Deck, the introduction of PLM did not stop with comprehensive version management. This was just part of a bigger plan. For example, with the introduction of PRO.FILE, the step towards 'compliance' with the ISO-9001 quality procedures have been made. Significant productivity gains have been made with the controlled reuse of existing designs for new customer-specific orders. Furthermore, with PRO.FILE ETOR technology, not impeded by distance and limited bandwidth, the engineering departments of the subsidiary office in Vietnam and the head office in Barneveld are connected and engineers can work together on the Solid Edge design data in projects.
