Mechatronics

How to bundle all the mechanical, electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and software elements of a product?

Mechanics and electronics have always been two totally different worlds, each with their own ways of thinking and solutions. They each work with different data and product structures and use separate authoring software and databases. Because of this, but also because both disciplines do not work in parallel, mutual coordination is very difficult. Where MCAD and ECAD connect to each other, many tasks are still carried out by hand. Engineers share built-in data, cable lengths or plug connections via Excel tables or by e-mail.
A prerequisite for connecting these two worlds is that the PDM / PLM system MCAD and ECAD data must be managed in a common database.

We connect mechanics and electronics in your company:

  • As a Product Data Backbone, PRO.FILE bundles all mechanical, electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and software elements of a product in one common bill of materials.
  • All related documents are stored together in the database and are accessible via a user interface.
  • Mechanical engineers can view the planned electronic layout when designing the enclosure.
  • Electrical engineers know the dimensions of the housing and know where the drill holes are located on which a printed circuit board must be attached.
